In-page alert

In-page alerts are used to contextually inform users of important information or the status of an interaction. They only appear on the page they are added to.

Customisation

  • Branding and colours cannot be changed.
  • Optional summary text under the heading to give additional context or describe information. 

DCJ authoring guidelines

  • The number of alerts should be limited to one per interaction or per page to avoid overwhelming users. Alerts are best used for urgent notifications that require immediate attention, important system messages, and time-sensitive information. 
  • Please refer to NSW Digital Design System - In-page alert to select appropriate alert type for your information. 
  • This component contains the HTML heading tags of H2, H3, H4, H5 and H6. When choosing the heading level, consider the hierarchy and structure of your content to ensure an optimal reading experience for your audience.

Limits

  • Title: no character limit, under 100 characters recommended. 
  • Summary: no character limit, under 150 characters recommended. 

Page type

In-page alerts can be used on:

  • content page
  • landing pages.

They cannot be used on:

  • homepage
  • campaign pages
  • Easy Read.
