A right hand interaction content page encourages active engagement with the content by offering interactive tools that facilitate the completion of the tasks. 

Purpose

  • Drive the desired outcomes or business goals set by this page. 
  • Assist users to complete tasks. 

Guidelines

Consider using a left hand navigation template if the primary goal of the content involves sharing information. 

Use zone 3 to offer users additional support in completing tasks. E.g. 

  • call to action
  • step by step instruction
  • process status
  • contact details
  • related resources.

Zone 1: header and main navigation

Zone 1 includes the fixed elements such as the masthead, logo, descriptor, third-party tools, breadcrumbs and mega menu. 

Zone 1 functions as a navigation panel while also offering a distinct visual representation of the NSW Government website that the user has visited. 

Zone 2: main content

Zone 2 presents information-rich content, offering users various interaction methods to explore details and access additional supporting resources easily. It can also incorporate media to enhance the reading experience.

The widget tool enhances user engagement with content by offering a simple and logical way to present complex information in a simple visual summary. It can motivate users to complete tasks required on the page and improve the conversion rate.

Zone 4: footer

Zone 4 contains the following components: Thumbs up thumbs down, quick links, social media, footer, footer links, and last updated (Fixed structure). 

Zone 4 incorporates the thumbs up thumbs down tool, capture user feedback and measure page performance over time. The bottom footer includes acknowledgements, relevant policies and disclaimers. The social media and footer message can be modified to suit the business need.
